Hi everyone, I am 32 weeks pregnant and need to switch from my current birth center to a homebirth and am looking for a midwife. I live in Elkton, MD so anyone in Harford County or Cecil County MD or New Castle County, DE or some parts of PA (kennet square, west chester, hockessin, etc.) would be within 45 minutes of me.

I look forward to your recommendations and am very anxious to start interviewing and preparing for a homebirth.

Karen Webster is in Elkton. I interviewed her a few months ago and really loved her, she was just too far for me to travel to for prenatals with a toddler in tow. www.womanwise.info

Mama to DS1 (2/08) and DS2 (9/10).

I second the rec of Karen Webster. I met her at an Anne Arundel County Birthing Circle meeting & liked her. Also had a friend use her & raved.
Best of luck!

Also, if you want even more options,

Anni Rodriguez, Homebirth midwife
Phone: 916-600-2491 (still has her CA cell #)
Email: [email protected]
Baltimore area, Southern PA area
Travels to your home for all visits

(as posted here: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...hlight=midwife)

& for yet another option, PM me - I'm pretty sure KC goes up your way.

Not sure if Evelyn Mulhan goes up that far, but I believe all prenatals are at her office in Catonsville & that would really be a trek for you.

My MW was fantastic, and you may be close to her. Judi Mentzer, lots of experience with the Amish, seems like she's seen everything and can handle it all. Loved her!

PM me for contact info.

Susan DiNatale would also be an option in that area. Her apprentice/assistant lives in Elkton as well.
