My baby sister is 21 and just figuring this whole being-on-your-own thing out. She lives near Upper Chesapeake hospital area. She has a heart condition and had mild spina bifida at birth, so she needs to be under an OB care for regular OB healthcare and if/when she eventually gets pregnant. She wants to pick her OB now. She hasn't had a period for almost 2 months. Bloodwork is negative for pregnancy (as are a bunch of tests)... more bloodwork happening today. The OB she randomly picked wants to start all sorts of meds to make her period start again and my lil sis is anti-birth control and meds... especially because of her heart condition. Less is more. She just wants to understand why she's missing her period. So.... if you live in that area please recommend sometype of midwife/OB that would be more holistic in nature and can maybe solve her problem. Would love any direction to pass onto her.

I only had a breaf convo with him, but Dr. Bellantoni of the Susquehanna OB/MW group based in Upper Ches hospital seemed great. He actually used the word "Epidemiologically" - showing he clearly understands the concept, and value of evidence-based medicine!

On the whole, Upper Ches is great for birth (I see the midwives.) I hope you get more input but at least I have a good impression of Dr. Bellantoni from the little I know of him.
