For the May meeting of the Baltimore chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) we will be hearing chapter member Bridgette talk about her recent VBAC after three cesareans. The May meeting will be our last one until the fall and so your last opportunity for a local ICAN meeting for a while. We do have chapters in DC, Northern VA, Eastern Shore, Montgomery County and (soon to be) Hagerstown so if you want to commute you still may be able to receive ICAN support during our chapter's summer break.

Meeting starts at 7 p.m. Future parents, first time parents, doulas, spouses/partners and children welcome. Bring a simple snack to share if you can but no worries if you cannot. Please do not wear any fragrances including essential oils to ICAN of Baltimore meetings. For more details see the meeting page of our website (Google ICAN of Baltimore.)

By the way, the new cesarean and VBAC data for 2011 is in and will hopefully be up on our chapter website soon. GBMC has joined the list of 14 other Maryland birthing hospitals that now does less than 20 VBACs in a year.

ICAN is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization and so no individual is profiting from this post.
