We have ants and spiders everywhere.  We sprayed the bug-be-gone bug repelent (supposed to go on your skin when you are outside) in our bathroom and could barely breath b/c of the strong citronella smell. I usually like essential oils, but that was too much.  It seemed to help in the bathroom, but not my tolerance level.  I also sprayed it by my sliding door that goes into our dining room but it didn't help at all.  I don't think I can handle spraying it all over my house.  What has everyone else done?

Just noticed this is in a tribal area - but just in case it is of use to you, we have had really good luck with the EcoSmart spray: http://www.ecosmart.com/shop/individual-products/ant-and-roach-killer.html

We have a wicked ant problem. And that spray in the house, and the granulated version outside has worked really well.  You have reminded me I need to go put some of that down.

Dissolve sugar and borax in water, that will kill the ants. Borax stops them at windows and doors, but the spray is easier to contain.

As for the spiders, unless they're the kind that bite, leave them alone. Spiders EAT the ants and other bugs that will come into your house. The only spider we have not killed here was a wolf spider who we found out later had bitten my toddler. We caught him the day after and didn't realize she had been bitten. The nasty bugger ran AT my husband who then killed the sucker. Caused a hell of a bite for the poor girl.
