After a very upsetting and frustrating morning w/ my doctor's office I've decided to look for a different doctor to continue w/ my pregnancy care. I've had 2 miscarriages in the past and would prefer an experience doctor. I was referred to an office in Olney but was advised that I would have to deliver at Montgomery General. Originally, I planned on delivering at Shady Grove b/c I'm familiar w/ their Maternity Care. Any suggestions are appreciated!
I used the Midwives and I had a fantastic birth, however, if you are in need of a lot of support and reassurance I'm not sure the Midwives are the best. They tend to have a hands-off approach and a no-worries attitude. You might want to try the other side of the office with the OBGYN. I delivered at SG and thought it was great.
I don't know much about Montgomery, but I have been thrilled with my doctor at Holy Cross. I have had several bad experiences in the past and was very happy to finally find Dr. Jacobs. He is a wonderful listener, very thorough, and all the staff in his office has been wonderfully supportive and helpful. If Holy Cross is an option for you, I highly recommend talking to Dr. Jacobs.
