I am working to find a midwife or OB for a VBAC, preferably at Alexandria INOVA or Virginia Hospital Center. I would also go south toward Lorton or Woodbridge (I'm in southern Alexandria, along Route 1). Most of the in-hospital midwives and VBAC-experienced OBs I've learned about are either in the District or far out in NOVA, and I am concerned that a long drive during labor could stall things out (my first labor was sloooooow). Any recommendations? Please tell me there are some good options!
Dr. Tchabo (male) at VHC in Arlington is great for vbacs. You can google for his info. His office is next to the hospital. I'm told he really believes in vbacs. Family and friends who have used him have nothign but good stuff to say about him.
If you consider homebirth I could recommend someone. I believe she still takes insurance.
