I am very interested in learning how to can - mostly salsa and tomato sauce - and although I can bug my Nonna, she's not feeling well and my mother won't do it as she has money to buy that stuff now - :eyeroll Sooooo, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing an afternoon canning thing? party? demonstration? or we can can something together? I thought it would be a fun thing. We can use my kitchen or whatever

Where are you at? I am in Southern MD. We have a pressure canner and water bath one. We have only canned spagetti sauce, pepper relish and pickles. So not a bunch of experiance but we are not canning virgins.

I'm near BWI airport south of Baltimore. Unfortunately due to gas prices, I'm not driving anywhere outside of 10 minutes from my house. It's very aggravating, but what can you do?

I've canned apple sauce and apple pie filling but i barrowed someone's equipment for it I find that price wise it really doesn't even out unless your getting the produce for free (like from your garden or a nice neighbor). I would share supplies with you but I have none I got a good book from the library someting like "Ball's complete home preserving guide", it was helpful.
