Hi all! I just found out earlier this week that I am pregnant! : Of course, it is terribly early...but I am in need of a good OB recommendation for the Baltimore area. I have already been told I am not a candidate for a midwife practice as I have some health issues that might require an OB. So, that said...I've accepted the fact and am ok with it as long as I can find the right OB. In addition to looking for an OB that is open-minded as far as nautral birth...I need to find an OB that is open-minded as far as alternative families. My DP is female...and I'm a bit concerned about acceptance of her being a part of the entire process. I just want someone we can both feel comfortable with...that won't judge. I know...a lot to ask!!! Anyway...if anyone has any good recommendations...I'd love to hear them. Thanks everyone!!!

Depending on your health issues I would still look into Kathy SLone (midwife) at Mercy. SHe will sometimes take high risk (not rying to label) in partnership with Dr. Altas. So your care would be from Kathy, birth as hospital, with Altas as OB. Otherwise I would recommend Hoffman's group as an OB group with the ability to go 'low-intervention'. Also find a good doula, they are invaluable in natural + hospital births. Good luck!
