I just stumbled across this thread. I'd love to bring my son to a pox playdate if anyone has it. I'm happy to go a few hours any direction from nyc if the timing is right.

Hi, we have the pox over here in West Milford/Hewitt NJ Fairly close to PA, close to NYC. Just cross over the GW, take Rt 4 to Rt 17N, or take Rt 4 to Rt 208 to 287, etc. I'd say less than an hour from the city with no traffic

my daughter just started getting the pox today so she'll be most contagious over the next couple of days!
oh, I am kind of new at using this forum, I just came on here to share b/c I only have a handful of friends locally that don't vaccinate and I'd like to share of course will all who are interested.
so I don't know how to check pm's. you can also e-mail me sharonkrumpfer@msn.com

Hi Mamas,

Just wanted to jump on here and let you know that we have a probable case of pox here. My 6 year old son came home with the itchy spots today. We are in the Poconos (Reeders/Tannserville area).

I will see how things look in the morning and let you all know....

We are taking him to the ped at 9:30 this morning. It started out looking just like pox, but it has not progressed to fluid filled bumps, no new ones have appeared and some of the first ones seem to be getting lighter, without crusting. I am leaning toward NOT pox at the moment, but will update you all when we get back from the doc.

I finally had to get my 13 year old son the vaccine because he is clearly maturing...He loves children and doesn't want to risk becomming sterile with a "later than normal outbreak." He was pissed about it too because it seems like everyone just gets the vaccine without even thinking about it. All the vaccines mean less chicken pox outbreaks. I never thought of posting a want add for the chicken pox...what a great idea!!! SO, if anyone has chicken pox in Missoula Montana...let me know! I still have three boys who are young enough to be safe.

We are in State College, PA. Just found out that my kids MIGHT have been exposed.
We were playing at a McD's play area when a little girl with full blown Chx Pox came. Didn't know she had it til we ran into someone the next who told us about it.
So, if it shows up in our house, I'll let you know.

Very frustrating now that I know it's in our town and I can't find it!!!

By the way, you should have seen how upset some of the parents were that this mom brought her daughter out in this condition!
Interesting!

Well...ahem...perhaps we need to repeat in 2 weeks and really ruffle feathers. ;-)

Seriously...I'm in the Allentown area, and would travel to you if you have an out break. I'll have to try remembering to check back here in 2 weeks!

Yes, if it's pox, please let us know. Jenn, if you go and then get it, maybe we can come to you? LOL - I'm desperate to find someone with chicken pox; it's so hard to now!!

My son has a cough and a runny nose and now he has spots on his back. I do not know if the spots are mosquito bites or chicken pox. Any way to tell the difference? There are about 10 red spots.

Hi. I'm just joining this and also want to expose my children to chicken pox--I figure I have a year as my 4 year old will be entering public school next year and I'd prefer to avoid the vaccine. So want to resurrect the search for chicken pox in the Philly area (or could drive to NY or NJ). Anyone know of any?

I missed out on the last pox because we were travelling and I didn't want to risk our kids breaking out while on vacation and being denied a plane trip. So surely there has to be some around. I'll email and see what I can find out.
