Flata,

Did you have any luck spreading the pox? We haven't gotten them and since that was our fourth exposure, I'm wondering if the kids may be partially immune? I'm glad we tried though, and hope others were able to catch it!

There was a thread in the Health section about why it can be so hard to give and get the pox -- very curious if anyone has insights!

So far I've only heard from two people - both said their kids didn't get it. BUMMER! I'll send an update if I hear of any positives.

I'm in western NY... Buffalo area and am looking for chickenpox for my 8 and 10 year old girls. My doc has let them go without the shot, but recommends getting it by about age 12. I'll travel to a party or play date. We'll be heading to Columbus, OH the end of June, so if anyone hears about anyone after that, I'd really appreciate knowing!

We were exposed and didn't get it either. Our ped. says 1/3 of the population has naturally immunity.

we were exposed yesterday-please do not email I will post if we get them
IF is the big issue for us because I had a hard time getting them myself and don't know how hard this will be for our DS- so we will wait- I got them at 28 days so we have a long wait------ but am in need of help!

Need some help---- has anyone gotten it via just the pops? IF so, how did you wrap them to ship--wax paper? just putting them in a paper cup and covering the top? what is the best way????

if you got them via a tee- just put them in a ziplock type bag? how did this work?????? really looking to the best way to share?

besides the pops and tees

I really am leaning toward the playdate as the BEST but know that not all can do that!!

we did a playdate first try, with pops, sharing water, hanging out closely. two kids, neither got it. we tried again 2 weeks later with another kid that got it from the first. i doubt it worked, but if it did, i will post, possibly next week.

if not, i'd love to hear where we can try again!

it worked for one of the kids. we're in nyc and could have a playdate tomorrow. also, the second kid will probably get it in about 2 weeks, though this one is a bit more willing to do the sharing..

please understand that i can't reply to everyone in case i get too many messages.

thank!

Hi Lentilsoup, if your child is up for playdate, we'd love to come. DS is 5 and we live in Brooklyn and come to wherever is convenient for you.

I also sent you an email. Wasn't sure if you wanted private messages or email.

from her...

Hi all,

My daughter has the chicken pox, but a very mild case, she had spots on Thursday and Friday but today they were all gone and none broke the skin. She is still sleeping a lot so obviously still feeling the affects of the illness. I live in Central Bucks County, PA and would be glad to have anyone over who wants their child exposed. Please email me at piersonhuff@hotmail.com.

Take care,
Linda

Baby the babies while they're babies so they don't need babying for a lifetime.

Hi there! We would love to get some pox action going here--would you be willing to ship lollipops? I'm in Orange, NJ. Not sure how far that is from you--I'm about 2 hours from Philly.

If anyone gets the pox, please keep it alive and keep posting. My husband just took our only car to work and I'm in the city, so by the time I got them dressed, got on the Regional Rails and out there, it would be quite a bit of a hard time. PLEASE message me if you got it. I'm willing to travel locally no problem.

And Melody, thanks for sharing the pox!!!

Totally kicking myself for missing this, we really need to get pox this year before kindergarden and we're a minute from Wynnewood!

Anyway, bumping in hopes that someone else could pass it on to us still!

Aww, I'm right near Wynnewood, too! Although I'm pg and even though I had it as a kid, should I worry about getting DD the pox while I'm pregnant? Sounds like a totally newbie question, I know. *sigh*

You definitely don't want CP during pregnancy.   My Mom had it at 34, right before she got pregnant with my sister.  She warn born with my Mom's immunity to it but the doctor warned that she would probably end up like my Mom and get it when she was significantly older (my Mom almost died from CP).  We had her sleep over everyone's house that was even remotely suspected of having it until she finally got it.
