Could anyone give me their sources for grass fed beef, chicken, raw milk, eggs? I live in Glenside which is right outside of Philly (NW) I would drive about an hour. Or does anyone have a source that ships? I am also interested in maybe buying a large quantity to freeze. thanks!!

The Fair Food Farmstand at Reading Terminal Market has all of these things and often from multiple sources (on Wednesday I think I saw raw milk from 3 different farms there). Their booth is recently expanded and is now located on the west side of the market. At least some of the chickens are from Griggstown and they usually have beef--both frozen. Eggs are also plentiful. The fruits and veggies at this time of year, no surprise, are limited. One stop shopping--definitely worth the trip! There is a prkg garage next door, but I don't know about rates, etc. You can also speak with the staff there about the sources of there products--they are very helpful and will even point to other local vendors of the same or similar products.

In West Philly there is a farmer's market on Saturday's at Clark Park (during the summer/fall) it is also there on Thursdays. Several farmers have raw milk.
Landisdale Farm sells at the Clark Park market, we get a CSA from them. They sell meat, we are veg so I can't speak to quality.

Keystone Farm sells at the Clark Park market as well, we get a winter CSA from them. They sell meat.

Mariposa Co-op, also located in West Philly, is a member's only (although they allow one time shopping, and are in the process of expanding to allow non-member shopping) co-op grocery store that sells raw milk. Mariposa does not sell any meat.

Weaver's Way co-op in Mt Airy, sells meat, and dairy, although I haven't been there in a while so I don't know if they have raw milk, but I am pretty sure that have natural/organic meat stuff.

Hi Deirdre! We get our raw milk at Henrick's Dairy in Telford. The raw milk is wonderful, as is the yogurt. Their cheese is amazing. They also have eggs and meat there (not from their farm but from other local farmers.) Their bacon is the best I have ever had, hands down.

We just camped and took a tour of Forks Farm. They raise pastured poultry, pork and beef. I was SO impressed with their operation. If you've read "Omnivore's Dilemma" or are otherwise familiar with Joel Salatin and his Polyface Farm...John and Todd at Forks Farm are totally following his example. It's amazing!

We took some eggs home and some beef. I have been eating local pastured eggs from several sources for years and I tell you these eggs were the best I had ever had. The yolk was SO orange. Very tasty! We've also been eating grass fed beef for a while, from Larry Herr. It definitely tasted different and my husband was not a fan. The beef from Forks, however, we both loved. Delicious!

Forks Farm comes to the Phoenixville Farmer's Market I think once a month and also some other local area. They also have buying clubs you can participate in. There is in one in the Fairmount area of Philly. A friend of mine is starting one in Media that I plan to participate in.

Thanks Jen!
I used to drive out to Henrick's. I agree that the bacon was freakishly delicious. Now that Glenside Farmer's Market is open we can get milk and beef. Thanks for the other links. I was thinking about buying a freezer and trying to stock up but i was hoping to save money by buying alot at once.
Hope you are feeling good!

Forks Farm has cow and pig shares available for the fall I believe. I'm going to look into it if you are interested. I much prefer getting an 1/8 or a 1/4 share of a cow and having all that in my freezer than buying piecemeal.
