We are going to Woodstock for 10 days and besides swimming/nature stuff, I'm wondering if anyone can shoot me some recommendations for little day trips or activities, cool shops, or places to eat

Thanks!

Definitely eat at New World Cafe and get the blackened string beans.
The Bear (I think that's the name...) is also really good.
If you like hiking, climb Overlook Mountain. The trail starts at the buddhist monastery.

You also have to go to Gypsy Wolf. They are closed on Monday but they have the best Mexican Food. They are just north of Woodstock. Love their food.

We love Sweet Sue's on Main Street in Phoenicia for breakfast. Phoenicia is a great little town, it's fun to walk along the main drag and the Esopus creek is right there.

If you're train fans there's a little train museum in the old train station in Phoenicia and train rides along the Esopus with stops there and in Mount Pleasant.

I also love

It has tons of hand crafted items by lots of different artists.

Visit the Woodstock animal sanctuary!! We took the kids to a really wonderful park located at the elementary school in woodstock. Bread alone is yummy too!! How about day trip to New Paltz. There is a great place to eat called Karma Road (vegetarian), you could also hike at mohonk mountain when in New Paltz. Have Fun!!!
