I got pox! In Philly near center city, break out started today. I have twins, and the other doesn't have it yet, so I'm guessing we may be contagious a little longer than usual.
My house is a mess and being remodeled, but if any philly moms would want a playdate tomorrow (sunday) or even possibly Monday, let me know. I'd be good during the day. Please don't ask me to drive out to the burbs outskirts, because I have no idea where any of that is.
Who knew that after purposefully exposing them a number of times and not getting it, that our first trip to Disney would result in chicken pox!?!?!?
For some reason I can't send a PM so I hope you get this soon enough. I didn't get the Mothering subscriptions update until this afternoon. I have a 7 year old son. I would definitely drive down to the Philly area. I live up in Macungie. Unfortunately, I will be over in Harrisburg tomorrow(Monday). I probably will get done there untill around 2:30 or 3:00 so it probably isn't enough time to drive to Philly. If you think you might be contagious still on Tues. please please let me know. If if anyone develops pox from exposure at Phillytwinmama's please also let me know. Please PM me if you can. Thanks.
I am also very interested in exposing my twin boys if pox is still out there. [email protected] many thanks!
Mom to Liam 9/06, spirit baby 3/09, and identical twins Mateo and Sebastian 10/11
Let me know if you hear anything. I live in eastern PA about an hour from Philly. I just sent you a PM. Let me know if you got it. I'm not sure if it is actually working since I am having problems with my computer. My email is: [email protected]
Please let me know if you are willing to have people over to share your pox!
I could be in Philly Wednesday with my boys.
I wouldn't have to stay long--I can send you an under-shirt if you child wears them around an hour over not yet crusted pox it's a good way to pass it along;)
You can also e-mail me ([email protected])
Just thought I would start this up again. I have four of my own kids in need of the pox. They are currently not allowed to attend school because right now a vaccinated kid had it and didn't tell anyone and now mine are not allowed to be exposed because of the "risk."
I would be glad to travel. Please let me know if you have it or can put me in contact with someone you know who does.
Im in NE PA, 2 hours from NYC, but willing to travel further.
Is there anyway you can get pox from the vaccinated kid at school? If your lucky someone else in your class may get it.
We think my middle son had chicken pox, but by the time we realized he had it (the dr. took a blood test and his titers were low and he was pretty asymptomatic, but a week later his chest was covered scabbing bumps and the Dr. said it was likely chicken pox), we were leaving for vacation. I was sure my other 2 boys would come down with it (they are always all over each other) but 3 weeks has gone by and still no sign. I had a false alarm last week when one of my son's had a fever and a itchy rash but it wound up being poison ivy:(
I also exposed them to a friend with shingles (she luckily didn't think I was crazy when I asked her to lick some lollipops;), but we're not sure if she was still contagious. That was a week and a 1/2 ago and so far nothing.
So, as you can I'm desperate to find chicken pox, especially for my oldest who is 11.
This is the time of year it comes out, so if anyone's kids come down with it, please share. I will be happy to have a pox party if either of my boys come down with it;)
We just got word of a Mommy in New Hyde Park NY who exposed her children. If they were to get it, we would be willing to travel and then hopefully if our children get it, we'll invite all of you to the farm for a play date!
I'll keep you posted. I'm in Wayne County, PA.
Keep your fingers crossed!
My daughter (2.5 yr old) may have been exposed to chicken pox Saturday. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up if it all turns out negative, but I know a heads up might be helpful. It takes 10-21 days to incubate before we'll know, usually about 2 weeks. I won't be able to corrdinate on all of the different sites, so I will just use the chicken pox parties ny metro group on facebook to relay possitive or negative. Our zip is 08002.
