Does anyone know of a great Pro VBAC Doctor in Buffalo, NY?  I am due April 28th.  My current OB told me that VBAC is not recommended which I know is not true.  When I told him I was leaning toward VBAC he said "It is very risky.  I'll see you in two weeks."  No discussion, nothing. Help!

I am in the Rochester area and my dr is all for VBAC. I am sorry that your dr is not giving you the support you need and deserve. I am new to researching the whole VBAC experience so I don't know much BUT I do know that a VBAC is not as risky as it was in the past. Do you think you could approach him again?

I have an appointment tomorrow with one of the 4 Dr's in the practice so I will bring it up again and ask to discuss it instead of no reply.  Thanks.

I saw the doctors and midwives at All Care for Women in E. Amherst/Transit.  My official Dr. was Dr. Ortman-Nabi.  She's great but didn't make it on time to my birth.  The midwife at Sisters Hospital helped deliver.  She was awesome.  Her name is Christeena, I think.  Can I just suggest, stay at home as long as possible.  That is what Christeena told me when I went to the hospital at 2 cm.  I went home and back to hospital when I thought I couldn't handle the pain any more and delivered 1/2 later.  Good luck mama!  Oh I also transfered to All Care at like 30 weeks so they were cool with me being a late comer too.

Thanks! I have been waiting forever to hear back from Strong midwifery in Rochester to see if they will accept me as a patient... I live two hours away from both Rochester and Buffalo, but since I have had 2 cesareans, no one local will help me! I plan to labor at home as long as possible, but driving a distance to deliver may put a wrench in my plan :-)

Have you found a Doctor or midwife yet?  I've heard of people who get a hotel room near the hospital and labor there until they're ready.  I hope everything works out for you because I know you can do it.  Your body was made for this!

Hmm, a hotel could work :-) Thanks for the advice! Strong did accept me, but I hesitate at the size of their group!
