We want to invite you to join us at any or all of the meetups we have planned for A Living Family in March. We are focusing on six offerings. Please see the dates and descriptions below and join us on http://www.meetup.com/A-Living-Family/. You can RSVP to events or post your own meetup. (For instance, maybe you plan to go to a play space and want to see if anyone else wants to meet up with you.) Feel free to email me with any questions or suggestions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope to see you soon,
sheila and jen

Dads Group -- Date TBD
This is a time for the children to enjoy some free play and/or
activities (such as sensory play) while parents get some chat time
together and practice child-led exploration and learning. The main
goal is to support each other while our children work out concepts and
conflicts on their own. As adults, though we can set limits for
safety, overall we would engage as followers rather than directors.
This is also a perfect time for us to support each other as we
practice gentle/respectful discipline and peaceful/playful parenting.

**A Living Family Outing**
This meetup offers a chance for families to get together and explore a
local space for outdoor learning and free play. Possible locations are
Briar Bush Nature Center, Smith Playground (offers an indoor option if
rainy), Pennypack Farm Education Center, or Wissahickon, although
there is a wealth of options in our region. Please click here
and check off your availability for the suggested dates.
**Open Topic Brunch / Play Time**
This is a chance to talk or ask about whatever is on your mind or to
just connect with other like-minded families....make this what you
need it to be! Possible topics could be babywearing, cloth diapering,
EC/diaper free, baby-led solids/weaning, natural healing and health,
sustainable living, birth and pregnancy, crafts/art making, peaceful
parenting/gentle discipline. Bring your children or not, but children
are always welcome. (See Play Group section above for description.)
This is also a vegetarian potluck brunch, so bring a dish or drink
you'd like to share.
**Birth Story Circle**
Birth is a significant rite of passage for women. Each pregnancy and
birth is unique and offers us a range of experience and feelings. We
feel the struggles and joys of carrying our children, laboring,
birthing and mothering. Rarely, however, do we find a space in which
to share these profound and life-altering experiences without judgment
or agenda. The Birth Story Circle is for all women. Expectant first
time mothers to mothers who birthed decades ago. Homebirth, hospital
birth, birth center, unassisted freebirth. Moments of great strength
and courage and moments of fear and doubt. Even experiences of loss.
We carry each story within us. Come share your stories and your
wisdom, just listen or do some birth art. This is your space, to
speak, to hear, to heal, to remember. (Click here to check off
availability for suggested dates.)
A time for the dads to get together and do whatever they’re into. With
children, without children. The dads decide!
**Natural Living Craft/Skill-sharing**
Many of us are trying to make changes in the way we live. There is
much wisdom among us. Together we can learn from each other, have fun
and save time and energy! This meetup gives us a chance to get some
tasks done around natural living that can be tricky or time consuming.
Examples are DIY laundry detergent, wipe solution/wipes, worm
composting or canning. The possibilities begin with our interests,
talents and experiences!
This is awesome! I loved your post on vaccines too. I found it very informative without being loaded emotionally. <3 Liss
Thank you for your feedback, Liss! That was certainly my goal. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Shouldn't be long till you see baby #2 I guess! I just had mine two months ago (almost three now!) so we have children almost the same age children. Hope to see you at a meetup some time when you get out and about!
