So, because of the terrible state of maternity care in Maryland, it looks like this baby is going to be born at his/her grandparents' house, in Princeton. I found midwives (Pam/Louise/Heather in Pennington) but I am considering a doula. I haven't explored how much they have their students do "doula" work during labor, so in case I need one, I thought I'd start looking (4 months, still have some time). The main thing is, I have some bad tailbone pain already (from an old injury) so I'm thinking I may need extra lower back support.
And ideas? I found one online, but she charges more than I think we can afford on top of the midwives (who are not covered by my insurance).
I am a birth doula, I work in the Princeton area, and LOVE homebirth! You can learn more about me at www.doulanj.com
