Carrie- thank you so much for offering a car ride, it is so nice of you, we would love to use your help, but I don't know if it's a good idea for playdate tomorrow, it might be to rainy to drive..?What do you think ladies ?But if it is ok with you to drive ...we can always think of something fun to do.
If not tomorrow, lets make a meetup next week- tuesday or wed would be good for us, any time of the day.We can't make plans for thursday, Maya has to say"Hi" to her doc.
Stay cool and dry

Hello all!!

I haven't been around in a while with so many things going on in my life, the holidays and not to mention Pierre, Emerson and I have been sick since December 26th!
I hope everyone is doing well and had a great holiday season and happy new year!

We'd love to have a playdate sometime soon as Emerson really enjoys being around other children.....and all people for that matter!

It's nice to see so many new long island mamas on here!

Aneta, how are you and Amelie and Maya?
Emerson is growing so fast!
She's 29 inches and 25 lbs. already at 7 and 1/2 months!
We had a doctor's visit recently too.
Emerson is wondering about Maya
I never had that natural boutique party btw
hope to see you soon!

I will be at LLL on thursday if it's still on.

Hope you all are going well in these rainy days.
Amy- so glad to hear from you, hope you getting better, and we sooo need to have a playdate.I can't believe how fast Emerson grows, I guess Maya is a little smaller, we are finally going to see doc on thursday...I think.
Also I want to Elizabeth and Lisa for coming over.We had a great playdate and we need to have it more often. So here is to all LI mamas: Who wants to join us this tuesday ,not sure about a time ( is 11 am ok )??Carrie ? Gwen? Amy? Is there anybody else? It would be great to have it every week, it can be at my place ( I love being a host ) or somewhere else. I think it is so good to meet mamas with the same ideas about diapering, breastfeeding, eating, co sleeping, living life in a loving way...and it is so great to have our children growing together...everyone learns so much from our "play time".
Well...mamas what do you think? Amy, Carrie if you want to come I will pm you directions to my house, it would be so nice to see you.

Welcome Morgan! We love to meet more natural mamas around here! I'm in Babylon (which is SW Suffolk, if you're not originally from around here).

Tuesday is good for us. Aneta - are you sure you don't mind being the host? I feel like it puts you out to host most of the time. We can have it at my house as well - as long as Aneta isn't shy about asking for a ride!

Hi.

We're new here. I recognize some names from other forums or places though.

Anyway, I'm Ashley, SAHM to Clark, who is 4 1/2 months now. We live out in Calverton (near Riverhead) and he HATES the car seat, so it's a bit tough for us to make long drives, but I'd love to attend (or even host) a play date.

I'm glad to join all you ladies.

Ashley, I think you're the closest to me so far. I'm in Southampton. I haven't met anyone from MDC yet, but hopefully we'll be able to make a date further into the spring.

Carrie

Edited to ask--what we can bring to snack on or whatever, since it sounds like quite a group?

Hi Mamas

Two things to mention...

If you want to bring a snack of some kind, please do! I was just going to put out some chips & salsa, some fruit & if Hannah & I get around to it in the morning, we'll make some graham crackers.

The other is we have a dog. I have a friend who is very allergic & reminded me to tell you all. Mushka doesn't seem to provoke strong allergies & I'll vacuum downstairs in the morning, but I wanted to let you all know.

See you tomorrow!

ETA- Morgan & Carrie - I pm'ed you directions.

We're in for next Tuesday if it's not too far of a drive. I can't host next week, but I would be more than willing to do so next month.

If/When you decide, please PM me the directions and I'll let you know.

Thanks!

I'd like to thank you too Gwen! You're a super host!
We really enjoyed spending time at your house and meeting everyone!
I hope we can all meet regularly........wherever possible!

Aneta I have some cute pics of Maya and Emerson so if you can pm me your e-mail address I'll send them to you!
She really had a blast playing with Maya!

On Monday a woman from TheBabyWearer.com is coming over to demonstrate how to use a wrap (of which I own three of but don't know how to use : ). Anyone who is interested in learning too is welcome to come.
It's not my house (we're staying with my parents right now to save $$$) and it's not babyproofed too well yet since Emerson isn't mobile - but if you're OK with that you're more than welcome.

**Correction: I mentioned that my cousin Sandy moved to East Meadow but she really moved to Wading River and my Uncle bought a house in East Meadow. I mixed up the two! **

Also, I'm going to be placing another order with OrganicPastures.com for raw unpasturized milk, butter, cheese and cream. I use their milk to make kefir. If anyone wants to check out the website and see if there is anything you'd like to order we could order together and just figure out the percentage of shipping. (That is, if anyone uses dairy products ). It's the same farm that Mercola.com is selling dairy from. You can read about how they test each batch, how they treat the cows and how much better raw dairy is for you on his site or theirs.

I forgot to add:

Hi Ashley! I feel your pain about car trips with a baby who hates the car seat! Emerson is JUST starting to get better (not 100% either!) at almost 8 months!
I have several car seat entertainment type toys that attach to the handle on infant carseats that I would love to give you. I tried everything! Emerson moved into a Britax carseat months ago and it's not one with a handle, so we can't use these toys anymore (we have lots of other ones now )
Anyway, let me know if you want me to send them to you.

Also, I was wondering if anyone made it to the Natural Food Coop meeting at the LichtBricht (sp?). I've been there once when I was preggo and didn't know they had anything like that.

Just chiming in to thank you again Gwen and Hannah, for hosting our playdate Audrey had a wonderful time visiting and playing with everybody in your lovely house! I hope we didn't leave you too much cleanup.

It was great to see all of you again, and meet those of you I haven't met before. I hope we'll be seeing more of everybody. We are definitely up for more play dates. Next Tuesday might work out for us again, too...

Gwen, keep me posted if you want company some time when you go to the Children's Museum...we are definitely overdue for a trip there.

Edited to add--Morgan, I sent you a PM (upper right hand, it'll show private messages) with more info on the Natural Mothering Forum meeting...
