I will be 42wks tomorrow and I am looking for a recommendation for an acupuncturist or reflexologist with experience in naturally inducing labor....Figure it can't hurt at this point

I am in the Northern RI/Southeastern MA area, so looking for someone around Providence or the Franklin/Mendon/Bellingham area.

If you don't have any recommendations...just send some good labor vibes my way :

TIA!

B"H

If you want to travel to Wareham, there's an acupuncturist at Wareham Nurse Midwives, don't know her name but you can find out by calling...

Have you tried doing any yourself Sheramy? I did one on my wrist and one in the V between my thumb and pointer. I can't say absolutely that it brought labor on but I do think it made my labor incredibly fast (which was not so great). All the best!!!!!

Oh and check out "birthright RI" it has recs for acupuncturists to use prenatally.

You can try soaking your feet in warm water and rubbing them a bit.

Avoid eating any sweets, anything with sugar, raw veggies, fruits, fruit juices, any sweeteners (artificial or alternative), tomatoes and tomato products (ie- ketchup, tomato sauce, etc) until you go into labor.

A good miso soup might help.

Good luck and happy laboring!

There are pressure points on the ankle that can help. I'm sure you can find it on google and do it yourself. It can't hurt.

Sending vibes

Wishing you easy labor starting soon. My first was born at almost 43 weeks. I know the waiting is tough but they come when they are ready.

You can try the Reflexology Association of Rhode Island: http://www.reflexologyri.com/, or the American Reflexology Certification Board: http://www.arcb.net, for a reflexologist. Not all Reflexologists and Acupuncturists specialize in maternity treatments so ask when you call.

Good luck!

Just wanted to post a thank you for all your recommendations and good labor vibes! DS2 finally arrived at 42w5d about 13 hours after a visit to the acupuncturist

If anyone needs a good acupuncturist I would highly recommend Diane Jones in Northborough, MA - she was fabulous!
