Hi
I have a friend due with her first baby in November. Had a breast reduction as a teen now wants to breastfeed and is asking me many questions. She has herself convinced she won't be able to, and I know that is a real possibility. I suggested finding a lactation consultant who might be an expert in working with Breastfeeding after reduction to help support her and let her know what to expect.

I'm looking for references to IBCLC or CLC's in an around Boston and places north of Boston.

Pming me is great or posting here!
Thank you!
Wendy

Does she know where she is delivering?
Hospitals often have lactation consultants that she can talk to.

Debbie Page, IBCLC is an excellent and well known lc in MA, she has helped me a lot with my issues. She probably will know who specializes in BR, give her a call or eamil her, she is very nice.

Good luck to you and your friend!

Thank you! She is delivering at Winchester Hospital. But I know from my own experience that some LC's have specialities. I think she'd benefit from speaking with someone who had a lot of experience in this particular issue. She needs some support to just not go straight to formula.
