I am planning to receive my prenatal care from and give birth at a Southern New Hampshire birth center that's about an hour and a half away from my home in Massachusetts. The m/w at the center I am interested in told me that she regularly has clients traveling about that distance to birth at her center. I would love to hear from some mamas who've actually done so. Not looking for reviews on NH birth centers or recommendations for other birthplaces. I'm sold on the birth center as being the best option available for me and my family. Seeking mamas who can talk logistics with me!
Doing it now. I'm 18 weeks and have been going since 10 weeks. It's 45 minutes to an hour from me.
I did it with both pregnancies. I lived in West Townsend, Ma so it was a 30 min drive for me to get to the Birth Cottage in Milford, NH. (which I LOVED btw) I had Harvard Pilgram the first time and Fallon Health Care the 2nd time. Not sure if you need help with the insurance part. I petitioned Fallon to cover my birth and won. When it comes to the drive I'm not sure how to help you except suggest you schedule appointments as to avoid traffic on RT 3 :)
Momma to Samuel Wyatt 8/15/09 and our new addition Jack 9/25/11!
