I'm due to have my second child in September and we are going to be at Memorial this time around. Has anyone had their older children present for the birth of their new baby? The "option" form I received lists it as an option you can check off, but I don't know how common it is or if it even ever happens, if there is an age minimum for the sibling, etc. My son will be 3 1/2 when our daughter is born and I honestly don't know if a cramped labor room will work out wi him, but I'm just looking for some info. Thanks, mamas!

Congratulations! I've heard wonderful things about Memorial from mamas who have birthed there and doulas who have attended births there. I would recommend having an extra labor support person there if you decide to have your son present. I haven't been to a hospital birth where a sibling was present, only home births.
