We need some friends. I have two daughters 3 and 5, and since I stay at home, I don't exactly make many friends for my girls. When I am at the park I am playing with them, not trying to meet other moms, I may even avoid them, since I don't do chit-chat well and feel awkward. My girls are energetic, my house can get messy, another reason I seldom invite people over-gotta get over this! (never gonna be a cleanfreak) We know a couple of families here, but other than that it's kinda null, and those families are traditional, so I'd like to start meeting or getting to know some people that are at least similar to us. It would be nice to talk to fellow families that are unschooling. I don't know if I am a strong unschooler, but I find that I am leaning towards unschooling as a definition. So basically you can't mind a mess and I am a social avoider-anyone wanna be friends?! LOL
Hey! Another somewhat antisocial unschooling mama with a messy living room here. I have 2 daughters who will be 7 next month, and a son who is almost 3. We are in Middlebury atleast once a week, maybe we can hook up at the library or something?
No worries, I'm glad I saw this in time because we will actually be in Middlebury tomorrow morning. PM me if you'd like to meet up at the library!
We'll be there again 2/22, tuesday morning at 9:30 for our homeschoolers' lego club get-together... you should come by with your girls, there will be a few kids there in their age group! You should also come join the Addison County homeschooling yahoo group:
Hope to meet you soon! :)
