The harmonica works because the virus is especially transmitted through the breath.

If we get them,it will probably be tomorrow or the next day.  I'll post either way.  I thought I saw some incipient spots tonight, but it might be wishful thinking.

We might have them -- no spots yet, but a fussy toddler,  I should know tomorrow.  But there's a definite case in Plymouth, Mass, which may be closer for some - check that discussion for details.

ETA:  We're in Middlesex Vermont, just north of Montpelier.

Nothing!  I'll post if we get spots, but it's not looking likely right now.

Don't lose hope.  The time between exposure and spots varies greatly.

At 4babes what day you on from the day of exposure? I know from 11-14days is best and the kiddos are most contagious.

We exposed on November 4, a month ago now.

Interestingly, our 17 month old had terrible terrible stomach pains right at 14 days, like I'd never seen with any of my kids -- so distressing that I took her to the doc.  He looked her over and found nothing, but I looked it up later and it turns that out that chicken pox can (very rarely) manifest that way.  If so, our 3 year old would be due to break out this week.

Gwens Mom told me about a new Chickenpox immunity group on FAcebook, and said there were some cases in Albany New York, exposed Nov 17 or so -- maybe someone is over that way?

If anyone is interested in the facebook group, you can PM me.  The admins are carefully screening for trolls.

4babes, I'm not close enough to come expose, but do let us know how it turns out!

quoting from another post:

"

There is a group on Facebook that has members who try to chain the pox from state to state. There seems to be cases all the time. If your interested in exposure here is the link. They do screen members before allowing them to join. An Admin will add you before having you join. You can then remove them after they have screened you. This is a pretty active group with lots of information.

I didn't realize they were going around in that area, is there another string that I haven't found? We live in Maine and are looking to expose two children. Thank you and good luck!

Pox in Southern Maine!  Just found out a friend in Lebanon, Maine has them and is willing to share, her first has spots that haven't crusted over yet and 2nd just got spots today.  I'm grabbing some poxified stuff Monday night to expose my youngest and if he gets them am willing to share, we are in West Newfield.  My friend's email is  igotsax@yahoo.com and her name is Jennifer and she's also willing to share the love;)!

Good luck!

Sarah
