I've been hanging with a homeschooling group in my area, but we are not completely feeling the love. I think we are a lot more unschooly than i first thought. I am just looking for some other unschoolers in the area to chat with and hang out with.
I live in Haverhill, NH which is near Littleton, Nh, Plymouth, NH, Bradford, VT, Newbury, VT, etc..... Anyone????!!!?!?!?!?

You might try the unschool yahoo group L-E-A-P. Families from all over NH (and a few other states) belong, although there's a tight group based around Nashua/Manch that are very active with get togethers. You might post there and see who may be near you. There's a LOTTA love in this group, tons of support, wonderful people! I think if you go to yahoo groups and search "unschool NH" you'd find us easily. If not, PM me (I'm on the seacoast). Good luck!

Thanks, I am a part of the LEAP group online. They are great, just too dang far away. I was hoping to find some folks lurking around my area.
Anyone?

What part of VT are you in? I know if you were to go to homeschoolers day in the park in Rutland this Friday there would be at least one unschooling family there!

Molly, mama to my 3 sweet boys.

I need to change my location. I live in Northern NH/ on the VT line. I used to live in VT and that is why I need to change it. I live about 2 hours from Rutland! I am starting to truly believe that I live in the middle of nowhere.
Thanks for the invite to the park though!

We are very unschooly in Chelsea, VT - about 30 minutes from Bradford (we're about 30 minutes from everywhere!)

I have a wide age range of children and we often go to Treasure Island in Thetford if you'd like to meet up there some time (if it stops raining long enough!)

Unschooling, writer mom of Matt, 22; Lydia, 21; Alex, 18; Liam, 16; Jack, 9; Kiara, 7; Seamus; Anais, 1 and ??? May 2015. About to hit the road in an RV full time. Currently live off grid in Alaska.

Heya Kerri

Dr. G's family is pretty unschooly, I think -- maybe they'd have some ideas? I think his kids are all a bit older than yours though.

Oh, I know! Go down to the Leb. LLL meeting. It used to be held at the home of a woman (Karen?) who has 7 kids and is very unschooly and cool to boot.

Hi Mish ,
Yes, Chelsea is not too far from us. I would love to meet up some time. My DH and I did a stint at the Mountain school as summer farm help, so we kind of know that area of Vershire/Chelsea.
Elsa, I forgot about Dr. G- how could I forget?!?!? At the next appt, I will have to ask him about it.

Dr. G is Stephen Generaux, a family practice doc at the wells river health clinic.

He is a great doc for AP families.

Hmm, that's actually a tough one because it means so many things to different people. There's an interesting thread in the unschooling section, you'll see what I mean: here.

For me, it's basically letting your children determine what they want to learn, when they want to learn, and how they want to learn. I find that it tends to become a lifestyle for people, in that they "unschool" other aspects of their lives like TV and eating.

I've been unschooling myself since 2004, and have since then had two little ones and now we are all happily unschooling and plan to continue to do so until...........................hopefully forever. Not even going to do "preschool."
We are in Chester, VT. Nice to know that are others out there around here!

Hi Kerri! We never have actually met after all this time! We've moved from New Hampton, down to East Andover, but we could meet up in the Hanover/Leb area sometime if you'd be interested in making the trip. We get up that way a fair amount...
