So, who's out there?
Thought I'd revive this thread. We'll be in Fayetteville in a little over a month. Can anybody point me to a fun, secular unschooly-friendly homeschool group? Does anybody attend LLL meetings? We're looking to do both!
My daughter's only 3, so I can't speak for unhomeschoolers (although I hope to find them in a few years!). But there's a good LLL crew around here. Meetings are on 3rd Thursdays, with occasional enrichment meetings.
For secular homeschoolers (some of which are unschoolers), look up NWASH on yahoo groups. :) I recently left the group because I'm going to college myself and we decided putting the kids back in school was the best plan for our family, but they're some great folks!
We should all get together!!! Have a nice big crunchy mamas (and wanna be mamas) pot luck or something of the sort. My house is on the smaller side but I would gladly host. I live in Fayetteville too, just a few miles past Terra Tots. Do any of you go to the Birth Network meetings or LLL meetings? I just graduated nursing school but right now I'm working as a waitress, a nanny, and a doula so things are still kind of busy. I would love to meet some of you though and I'm all for fostering a much more connected community of support for us all!
