I am new to Arkansas and do not have a pediatrician for my daughter yet.  Can anyone recommend a pediatrician who may be tolerant or even support my choice not to vaccinate?  I am living near Little Rock.

Thanks@

Lori

Dr. Jane Meiers.  Sherwood Family Medical Clinic in Sherwood.  She was our doctor when we lived in NLR and we still have an active account with her in case the kids get sick while visiting family.

Sherwood looks awfully far

Yeah, Sherwood is too far from Fayetteville for a pediatrician.  :(  But rest assured you will be living in a really fun area, especially during football season!  We'll have to teach you to call the Hogs.  LOL  My inlaws live in Siloam Springs (which is about 30 mins from Fville) and we love to drop the kids with them and go to football games.

Dr. Eugene Lu at AR Pediatric Clinic.

He was my kids' pediatrician for a couple of years, before my family and I moved out of Little Rock. He is very open minded and once he gives the standard information, he fully allows the parent to make the decisions for their child(ren) and call the shots. He is very kind and gentle. When I told him- just before the birth of my second child- that I didn't want any of the standard newborn tests/screening done on my baby after the birth (eye drops, Vit K, Hep B shot, circumcision, etc.) and that I was concerned that I might have trouble with the nurses, he told me, "You tell anyone that tries to give you trouble that I am your doctor and if they want to argue with you, they need to take it up with me". It was awesome! thumb.gif

I have been taking my 2 year old son to Northwest Arkansas Pediatric Clinic (Fayetteville) and they are not at all tolerant to not vaccinating! They told us not to come back unless we start considering shots. They have done nothing but pressure and belittle me at every checkup. They have alot of doctors there but I have the feeling they are all on the same page. Hopefully I won't have to hard of a time switching my Arkids PCP.

We are in Bentonville and are running into this same problem.  Wish I could help...

Another vote for Jane Meiers in Sherwood.  There are not many options in the Little Rock area, unfortunately.
