I am not pregnant, but would like to be in the VERY near future. I have had 3 csections. The 1st being after a failed induction (40+3or4 days, I was not educated about natural birthing then) the other 2 were repeat CS because of vbac bans at hospitals (I didn't know my rights). From what I understand the vbac bans have been lifted for 1 and 2 previous csections, not for more than that. Where should I begin? NWA is not vbac friendly. What kind of questions should I ask the hospitals, doctors, and midwives. What can I do NOW to help increase my chances of a vba3c? Any names of drs, hospitals and/or midwives? I dream of a home birth with a midwife but I'm not sure if that is the safest. I feel like a hospital birth with a midwife would be the best of both worlds but I'm not sure if midwives are willing to do that either or if the hospitals would allow it. It's a lot of questions and any suggestions and insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Welcome to Mothering! I see your post was missed. I thought I'd bump it up to give it some attention and see if anyone has a recommendation to share. And I'm sending good wishes to you for your TTC journey. dust.gif

Hey,

I hate that you got the feeling NWA wasn't VBAC friendly. We have quite a few OBs in the area that have good reputations with vbacs (mainly Dr. Hannah @ Lifespring in Bentonville and Dr. Hill in Siloam Springs), as well as some midwives who will bend the rules of their certification, and then we have some midwives who choose not to be certified who will attend HBACs as well, including those after multiple csections. I am a doula in the area and have had vbacs at home and hospital. We are having a meet the doulas mingle tomorrow in Springdale if you're interested (http://www.facebook.com/events/394456103966032/).
