I would like to try the alternative vaccine schedule, but I'm not sure how a regular pediatrician will react. Would like info and/or names of doctors who would be more inclined to work with me.

Welcome to Mothering! I'll bump this and see if someone local can help you find someone specific, but we do have a number of forums about vaccinations, and maybe you can get some general advice about how to find someone there: http://www.mothering.com/community/f/47/vaccinations

Good luck!

I live on the Northshore & we use Dr Richard with Ochsner Pediatrics. She's inside Lakeview in Covington. It would be a drive across the causeway, but if you can't find anyone else, she's great. My daughter is 3 & we stopped vaccinating her when she was 1. No one has ever said anything to us about it, no pressure or anything. The only time I take her in is for sick calls. Good luck.

SAHM to DS (16), DD (13), DD (3) & a bun in the oven due 10/11/13

If you are still having trouble, we use Dr. Estes at Napoleon Peds in New Orleans. We live in Slidell but it is worth the drive because he is very supportive. He will sit you down and tell you what to consider and what is not needed, if that is what you want. He would probably kindly tell you that no vaccines at all is not something he would recommend but I think they all have to do that. We have been on an alternative schedule that he supports and our son even got mumps which is not serious in kids but he still didn't lecture us... but another on-call doctor did though. I guess that is why I recommend him, because I saw how bad some other docs are!
