Does anyone know of a Dentist in Chicago that accepts Public Aid/Medicaid? This is for myself. I tried getting into Erie dental on Kedzie but couldn't because they said that I had to be a patient with an OB at Erie's clinic. I told them that I'm a patiend with Swedish Covenant Midwifery and the receptionist said "uhh.... No." I did get my daughter in there though.

SO.. does anyone know of anything? I was a patient at UIC with their sliding scale for orthodontics.. but that was 8 years ago. Now I'm 31 weeks pregnant with horrible cavities and I'm in pain. So.. any reccommendations?

Slightly off topic, I apologize. But, does anyone know what dental services medicaid will cover for adults in IL? I've heard they won't cover anything 'cosmetic', crowns, root canals, etc... is this true?

http://www.allkids.com/customers/find_dentist.html

This link provides a chart for services covered for moms and babies, allkids, and family care. I assume coverage is about the same for medicaid and all other state run programs, but I'm not certain.

Thanks for the link. It states the limitations for adults on that page... which suck.

Root canals only in facial front teeth. GREAT. Looks like I'll be losing a few.

However, I AM 19 years old, so I think I might be considered under the "children under 21" category.. though maybe not, since I'm pregnant, have a child, am married, etc. I def. don't fall under the criteria for a "child" but I'm curious to see what their criteria is.
