We found our pedi through our midwife in Oklahoma - seems that it isn't that easy to find a pedi that will accept your homebirth baby either sometimes - double
Soooooo, how does one get in contact with a midwife in the Springfield area? Seems they are a bit underground outside of Chicago.....
I'm a medical student here in Springfield with interests in all things natural. There are three midwives that work through SIU Family Medicine, and I would say they have very different personalities....in that one is kind of a doc in disguise, and the other is much more midwifey if you get my drift. The third I've never met. These midwives work in the hospital, I have no idea if there are any DEMs in the area.
Hi! I live in Springfield, IL and want a homebirth. How does one find homebirth attendants here?
It seems like no one in Springfield is active at all in these sorts of things at least not on line. Does every woman in this town just accept a hospital birth with no thought at all? Sorry about that vent but I am starting to get very frustrated with this town.
I had to drive to Bloomington to see my HB midwife. There is only one person local that is doing them. Any yeah. I totally get the frustration. They are pretty much "underground".It took me quite a while and lots of phone calls till I they started calling me. I did get calls from about 4 and interviewed with three eventually.
