I'm writing on behalf of friends whose baby is in NICU in St L. Does the city/area have any support groups, or other resources for info and support for such families? Also, it is possible their baby will suffer longterm issues/delays (not clear yet)--they may be needing info on parenting Special Needs baby/child...while they are in the city (at least for another few days/week, maybe longer--their home is a few hrs away), are their people/groups/resources they might look into? They are at a fantastic hospital, and have all the basics for now lined up (lodging, food, etc)--but are eager to learn all they can about making the best of this situation for their baby and themselves. Any links to info would be much appreciated.
Since there's been no response here, kind of assuming readers don't know yet...but it turns out St Louis has some excellent resources for at-risk babies and their families. My friends have found amazing support and care.
