Hi Everyone,

We are moving to MN at the beginning of Jan and will hopefully have a place in the Eden Prairie area within a couple months. I am due at the end of April and will be trying for a VBAC. Does anyone have any hospital or midwife recommendations?

Thanks,

Amber

Would you like to have a homebirth, birth center birth, or a hospital birth?

Morningstar is a free standing birth center run by CPM's. You could have a waterbirth!

Freestanding birth center on Grand Ave. Again, you could have a waterbirth!

As far as hospitals, what are you looking for specifically for your VBAC?

Depending on where end up you might consider going west! I deliver at Waconia with a CNM and am planning a water birth for my LO coming in June. They just remodeled the labor and delivery area (I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure it's super nice). I see Cheryl Heitkamp, CNM at Western OB/GYN and she is wonderful!

ETA: I went to my appt. this morning and Cheryl told me she is leaving Western Women's to start a birth center in Minneapolis... I'm super bummed because Minneapolis is too far for me. But all you urbanites be on the lookout for a new birth center opening next spring near Abott.

I would LOVE a waterbirth. I was looking in this area for one and there aren't any close so I accepted that I would just need to give birth at a hospital using the help of a shower. If I could have a hospital waterbirth, I would be over joyed.

Ridgeview looks great, I will have to call then and see if they take vbacs.
