Hi all,
A good friend of mine is considering homeschooling her 6y.o. son but is overwhelmed by trying to find into. Are there good homeschooling groups in/ around Madison? Does anyone have any info they can share that i can pass on? This wasn't something she had originally planned on doing but his 1st yr in public school kindergarten wasn't what she had hoped for so is seriously thinking this might be the way to go. She's especially concerned about socializing her son b/c he is quite shy.
Thanks for any help!

My son isn't quite homeschooling age but we chose Madison as a place to live because it is chock full of homeschoolers. Have her check http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/.../Wisconsin.htm under "Dane County", hopefully she shouldn't have too much trouble finding a support group. Best of luck.

There is a Homeschool Basics Program at the Monona Public Library on August 7th from 1 - 2. She's be able to meet other homeschooling families and other families who are interested in homeschooling but haven't started yet.
