My younger brother his wife and 6 week old baby daughter will be moving to Duluth MN at the end of August - my SIL accepted a position at U of MN.  I am just being a nosy, know it all, sister at this point - any ideas on what neighborhoods would be best- easy access to the university?  near a nice park for my brother who will be a stay at home Dad for while?  they enjoy a more rural atmosphere - they have been in Central PA for a few years now.  They are both originally from Buffalo, NY - so snow doesnt scare us easily ....buuuuut - whats MN snow like?

They are involved in a law suit with an ex-landlord who was a real slumlord - they really want to stay away from student housing - anything to be aware of when renting near a University?

They are not super crunchy kind of people - like i said just being a 'buttinski'  at this point - but id love some info on the area!  any and all info is welcome, thanks!

When you say U of M, you mean UMD? There are tons of options for living very close to campus or a little further out in nature. There are also just tons of options in Duluth in general. A new birth center just opened, there are babywearing and attachment parenting groups, and Hartley Nature Center is very near UMD. Dr. Heather Winesett is hands down the most popular pediatrician. She is at St. Luke's hospital. The snow here can be straight up brutal. AWD is highly advised. Tell me if you have any other questions. I'm not totally sure what you're looking for, but I would be happy to be your family's local guide!
