Do you have any specific questions? It is a typical college town. Pretty liberal and fun. Lots to do for kids, great hiking, climbing, and other outdoor activities. There is a great farmers market and a few health food stores in town..

hmmm, what else would you like to know?

I agree with the above posters. I don't have kids, so I can't claim personal experience with that part, but I grew up in Fort Collins and work there now. (I live in a different town now, about 40 minutes away). What kind of information are you looking for?

Me and DP, No children yet, but we plan on having kids someday. I'm trying to lose weight and get fit. Ask if I've done my push-ups this week.

My hubby and I live in AZ and FT. collins is on our top list of where to move when we move there. It's a little too city for us but we still like it.

Check out Windsor too. It's like 10 minutes from Ft. Collins and is very very nice and smaller.

Good stuff:

Liberal
Great hospital (if anything happens)
Close proximity to Denver
Safe
Family friendly
Close to recreation
*Somewhat* insulated, economically speaking
Access to "big town" stuff in a smaller city

And there are some negative things as well. I think one of the biggest negative factors for me was dating, of all things! Before I met my husband, I always said that everyone in this town was 21 and under or 35 and up with 2.5 kids! :-)

Dating issue resolved, one of the things that I like least about Fort Collins is all of the college students. They seem to be rude, self-serving, and totally uninterested with "blending" into the community. Of course this is a generalization and there are absolutely exceptions.

But, if we are being honest here, they are a huge contributor to our economy and are in a large part responsible for providing us with some stability due to the consistent influx of money.

Overall, FC is an awesome place to live and raise a family. We are not natives, but we have really enjoyed it here. If you need more info, feel free to PM!
