Nebraska mamas- I know this is an Iowa issue currently- but the midwife in question here services your state as well.... If we do nothing Iowa will become like South Dakota and what is stopping this from happening in Nebraska as well?
I am sure some of you are on the Friends of Iowa Midwives email list- if so then you already know that one of our midwives is in legal trouble. Ladies- legislation has gotten basically nowhere- here is our chance to try to get a favorable ruling for a CPM. As I am sure we all agree- CPMs are NOT practicing medicine without a license. And at least around me the only way to have a home birth it through a CPM. If we can gain a favorable ruling in this case it should at least set a precident for CPMs in our state. This is our hill. PM me if you can offer help or suggestions.
