Hi Lawrence Mamas,

We are needing to find a practice that is homeschooler friendly, and by that I mean, won't write us off just because we homeschool.  It has become apparent over the last couple of well-child visits that our doc has little/to no respect for me.  We are pretty mainstream and we actually do vaccinate so that is not a point of contention.  Our kids are all healthy and well-adjusted and there are no learning difficulties etc. -we are pretty much low-maintenance to have as patients.  However, I have a very strong gut instinct that our choice to homeschool is not respected.

Frankly, I am just done with the dismissive attitude.  I find the way she tries to interact with me contrived and forced.  More often than not she completely misunderstands my concerns or questions.  Obviously, we just don't mesh or communicate well with one another.  I chalk it up mostly to personal bias but I digress.

Also, the way the office manager runs things is lacking-better -but lacking in that their people answering the phones can be down right rude and they still somehow have a job!  Plus, I have heard the way the office mgr. speaks to staff and it is just toxic.

I would like a more open-minded and compassionate doctor for our family whose practice (including office staff and nurses) also reflects these qualities.

Any leads/suggestions?

TIA

It looks like your post might have been missed, so I wanted to bump it up for attention. :bump: Anyone have a recommendation to share? I hope you can find a practice that's friendlier and a better fit!
