Hi All,

I'm researching the Waldorf Charter schools in CO for my almost six year old little boy. I'm considering moving us to CO.

Does anyone have any feedback about any of the following schools:

Juniper Ridge Community School, Grand Junction, CO

Mountain Phoenix Community School, Wheat Ridge, CO

Mountain Song Community School, Colorado Springs, CO

Mountain Sage Community School, Fort Collins, CO

I'm mainly looking for NO STAR Testing and Attachment Parenting International types of family / school communities if anyone has any insight or experience I'd love it.

Thanks!

Katie

I have friends who are parents, children, and teachers at Mountain Sage. It's a lovely school. I'm impressed with how wholesome and Waldorfy they've been able to make a public school. The parents seem kind and engaged. A dad built a beautiful loft for one classroom and another made the coolest May pole for their festival. I've gone to some of their crafts and festivals as a guest.

We also have a few part-time schools here in Fort Collins -- where the student attends 2 days per week and does his/her work at home with mom/dad as more of a resource and helper than a homeschooling parent. Just a mention.

peace,
teastaigh

Hi Katie,

I moved to Denver from Indiana 8 years ago and love it. I love Waldorf (though my 10 yo is currently at a Montessori school.)

I have a friend with a son at Mountain Phoenix. Let me know if you'd like me to connect you and I'm happy to talk about other Colorado questions!

Check out our Facebook page and we do mornibg coffee each Monday after drop iff if you would like to join us and get to know us a little more. PM me for more info.

@katies udhatler, my children go to Mountain Sage and I sit on the Board of Trustees. I'm happy to answer any questions you have, if you still have them! We were also involved in Mountain Phoenix for a bit when we lived in Golden. Things have changed since we were there in 2011/12, but my friends who had their children enrolled with my oldest are still going and seem very happy. Hope that helps!

Mamamiz, we are moving to Colorado from across the country specifically for a Waldorf community. Would you be willing to chat with me about your experience with Mountain Sage and Mountain Phoenix?

Bufomander - Mountain Phoenix

Do you still know the person who has a child at Mountain Phoenix? Would love to make a connection! I will have a 5th and 7th grader, possibly, there in Fall 2017. We are moving to the Denver area this summer and currently checking out Waldorf schools and public districts for our upcoming high school years. Looking toward the foothills, west of Denver.

Hi Rachel! I'd love to talk more. I do still know many people at Mountain Phoenix -- sort of weirdly, now including my partner's son (I hadn't met my partner when I last posted about Mountain Phoenix). We can also discuss other schools and the area in general. I'm happy to talk via pm, email or phone!
