Hi there - My name is Karen and I am a FTM in Lakewood (west of denver) - our baby boy is due in October of this year. Looking to connect to other mama's as well!
Does anyone have advice on navigating child care options for infants and even up through the pre school age? Have any of you gone the full time Nanny route? (Mon-Fri 8-6 pm) or a Nanny Share program?
I have heard the horror stories of how $$$ child care is but it's finally settling in as both my hubs and I work full time and after my maternity leave ends (Jan 2016) we need to figure out the best option for our lil guy.
@SweenIT: I was just talking to a coworker about this yesterday. Childcare is terrifying expensive for sure, especially here in Boulder. It looks like we'll be facing enrollment fees of $1100/month for care 3 days a week--this is in a daycare, though. My coworker does nanny share and raves about it. She basically pays the same as she would if her baby was in a daycare, but she likes that her nanny only has 2 babies to watch. Once downside to this is that you usually need to share your home as well, and have enough space for all the kids in the nanny's care. (I guess it depends on the specific arrangement--sometimes one family offers to host the kids all the time, sometimes it rotates from house to house). We probably won't go the nanny route as we live in a very small mobile home and have zero extra space.
Let us know what you discover about this as you investigate, I'm feeling kind of clueless at this point. My maternity leave will end mid-March 2016. My partner and I both work full-time but we have some flexibility in our work hours, so we're hoping to only need care 3 days per week.
Hi everyone, I'm a FTM in Denver, also trying to figure out child care options for infants. I'm in SW Denver (Harvey Park) and would be interested in doing a nanny share. My maternity leave will end at the beginning of Feb 2016 and I'll be going back to work full time. It would also be great to connect with some other local mamas!

Hello there! I am in search of a fun-filled soul that would be a pen pal to our son! We are relocating to the Boulder/Nederland area in late Spring 2016. We have one ecstatic yet apprehensive 11 year old boy making the trip As his father and I were both born and raised in the Midwest; both sides of our family will remain there, and although our son, Aidan, is an adventurer and explorer at heart.. those Grammies are hard to separate from We are in hopes to find some sweet kiddos that may help make the transition a little easier for him. As his mom, my heart breaks for his fears and he is so unsure and reluctant to leave his family and close friends. Aidan is interested in anything that moves! He loves outdoors - hunting, tracking, fishing, four wheeling.. he's interested in biology and wildlife - has high hopes to an Ecologist His favorite sport is baseball but enjoys and has participated in them all. If anyone sweet son from a kind mom is available to make friends with our gentle guy - I will be sincerely grateful and can promise Santa (for a few years to come!) will be good to you
