Anyone in Kalispell or close by? DH is looking at a job up there, and it would be nice to "know" some people before we get there!

This particular tribal forum isn't particularly active, it's very likely we have some Kalispell moms on the board who just don't check here very often.

Where are you from, originally?

I've a few friends who are from Kalispell, and some familiarity with it - not enough to direct you to which parenting groups to hook up with, but *some* familiarity.

The population there is interesting. There were a TON of Ron Paul signs when we were there in '08 -- there's a mix of Conservative Christians and of "Granola" types. You'll be able to find some like-minded families, I'm sure. There's a pretty nice-sized health food store there (probably a nice place to scout for a good mom's group) ....

It's beautiful, close to Glacier - and I suspect it's a buyer's market for real estate (at least compared to what it was like in the past, when the prices were so high). And, lots of cherries, berries, etc. in the summer due to the Flathead Valley climate.

GL to your dh on the job interview!

Not all who wander are lost.

We have a few Kalispell transplant out where we live. They can still take the train back from here and some of them still work seasonally and kept their homes. I just drove through it for the first time a couple weeks ago. It seemed like a nice little town (huge to us!) with some kid friendly areas and the downtown was very cute. Mason loved window shopping and the ice cream from Norm's.
