Hi ladies!

I am having a really tough time finding a midwife in the area who would deliver at a birthing center or hospital. Any recommendations?

A friend told me about a doctor backed team in Phoenix... Bethany Birthing Center... but it is just so far for us.

I am currently seeing an OB in Mesa, who delivers at Banner Gateway - which would be pretty close for us, but, after stumbling around on the site for 5 1/2 months... I just really think I want something more than she is offering! So if you know of an OB who is equally as awesome as a mw, I would appreciate those referrals as well

Thank you Mamma's!!

As far as hospital births in the EV, there's Janice Bovee CNM who works with Dr Kells and attends births at Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert. There's another new MW in that practice as well. Their number is (480)855-5900.

Brittani Hamilton and Diane Bajus are CNMs who attend births at Tempe St Lukes. Their number is 480-496-2651.

Also there's a midwifery practice at St Joseph's in downtown Phx.

Of course, we are blessed with several amazing home birth midwives in the valley, too, and I would encourage you to explore that option. You can get lots of info on birth in our community at the east valley Birth Circle. It's held monthly and happens to be this week on Thursday. It is held at the Nurturing Hearts office at 1220 North Spencer Avenue, Suite #200
Mesa, Arizona, 85213. 7:15 to 9:15 PM.

Good luck!

Jenny: 40 Something AP mom to 2 adult kids, 2 teen step kids, and one amazing 7YO. Doula and Brio Birth educator, too!

Thank you, thank you!!!

Great information - just what I needed!

Ps- Hb is so, so, so awesome... But DH just isn't there yet... It's our first and he's not comfortable with it... So, maybe next time

Thanks again!

I saw Janice with my last pregnancy and really liked her. I had my baby at Chandler Regional.

Yay! I am soooo excited! I get to meet her on Monday!

Today I had an appt with my OB, and it was terrible again! It was exactly the motivation that I needed... called Janice's office and the receptionist was so wonderful. I am already so much happier

Thank you ladies!!

I am also using Janice and Dr. Kells and this is my first child as well. Really interested in home birth but not quite ready for that so we elected to go with Boojum b/c of the 2 m/ws in the practice. Dr. kells I can take or leave but I LOVE Janice! She won us both over immediately.

I meet Ramona next week (the new m/w) and have lots of questions for her on natural birth at Chandler Regional. If anyone has experience to share, I'd love to hear.

Also, azjen thanks for the birth circle resource!
