I'm not on Facebook so I can't see the pictures! I've been thinking about joining for work purposes, so maybe this'll put me over the edge....

We are flying back to Tucson tomorrow--yay! If anyone wants to get together and play on Wed/Thurs, let me know!

It's so beautiful outside!! Carter's schedule is way screwed up, so we're using this beautiful middle of the day time (when he is usually napping) to go to zoo. In case anyone wants to join us, we'll be there about 11:45. my phone # is 977 1346.

Hey mamas. A favor to ask. My little sister has been in labor now for almost 30 hours with her first babe. She's at home with a good team of midwives but lives over an hour away from a hospital. She's been pushing for a while without progress and the baby is showing some distress. I don't know anything more because my dad is the one who called with news, but if you could all send prayers/good labor thoughts her way that'd be great. Thanks!

Becca, I am, as we Quakers say, "holding her in the light" and sending major labor vibes her way. let us know how it goes!!!

All, I think we may drop by connor park this afternoon, if anyone is out and about...

Baby was born about 20 minutes ago. They decided to transfer to the hospital for a c-section but as my sister was getting into the giant ranch truck (oof, after hours of pushing, while still having pushing contractions), the baby was born in below freezing temperatures in the truck outside the house. Poor mama, poor baby. But baby arrived and is in good health . We don't know boy/girl yet because they're still getting warm in the truck and they don't want to unwrap the kiddo yet.

This is the second little one in my family to make an entrance in a vehicle in the past 2 years.

Woah, that is incredible!!!!I love the image of them staying warm in the truck.

In my childbirth class people from the last class came in with birth stories, and 3 mamas gave birth as soon as they got up to transfer to the hospital! I guess their bodies were like "oh, wait! not that!"

Congrats to your sis.

They're back in the house now and we have a boyo! Thanks for "holding her in the light" Sarah. I love that. Everyone is feeling much relieved and peaceful now.

Javier said we're buying a special birthing trailer that we'll attach to the bike if I need to transfer the 1/2 of a mile to the hospital.

ETA: He's 8 lbs 7 oz and 22"

I'll help make your plans official - I'd love to do a park day on Thurs. I'll only have an hour-ish to pop by around 11:30 or 12:00 but since you'll be canceling on me anyway I'll probably be at the library

No, thankfully the kiddo has been head down for a few weeks now but my care provider wants me to make sure my bones/ligaments are in optimal position to allow as much room for the babe to make the great escape. Webster is good for more than just breech, right?

That's a good idea!! For my bday my mom said I could have a professional massage every month till the baby is born--- maybe I'll trade in my massage for a visit to the chiropractor. Anyone know the optimal time to go? Like, should I wait a couple weeks?

Jen, I wish I could commit to the park tomorrow since that would probably increase your odds of going into labor, but we're visiting my mom's school for their holiday festivities. But I hope you're having your baby this very second!!!!!

I went there when I was preggo and she got Aurin to drop when I was all out of alignment. Oh it was so relieving! (well, in a sort of uncomfortable way haha) We've seen her a few times since and always have a good experience.
Anyway, we will TRY to make the park tomorrow, it has been way too long! And for today, we will probably be heading to the botanical gardens in a bit to get a final oomph out of our membership.
