Hello Mamas - I'm beginning to look for a school for my 4yo DS. I would prefer to hs, but worry about socialization. DS is an only child right now and doesn't even have any close relatives within 22 yrs of his age. He's pretty much been around adults for most of his life and I can see where he needs more interaction with age-appropriate peers. He seems to thrive around people and is energized by others. So that's my situation...do I let him attend a private/charter school for the sake of socialization? I'm so confused I don't know what to do

I don't even know if there's an active hs group in the Arrowhead area, anyone know?

My kids attended Sunrise Montessori last yr. They have a campus at Deer Valley and 83rd Ave, and one at 47thAve and Thunderbird. I only switched to a charter Montessori because I got a job at one. I couldn't afford the private one anymore so I looked for a job to pay for it. I happened to find the job at a charter. There are a few other Montessori in the area- in home and private in a building.

Thanks! I googled this group and found their Cox website. However, the last newsletter posted was from Sept. 2005. Do you know if they are still an active group?

Im 99% sure they are still active. If I remember correctly they are a large group. Why dont you try to join the yahoo chat link? I think DS and I went to a 'park day' once. While the group wasnt for us they are a great support network and again they are LARGE and have lots of activities etc.
