How silly/stupid it is that Utah and Arizona are placed together when residents of the largest cities in each state (Pheonix/Salt Lake) both refer to the area of their residence as 'The Valley'

Hmm, I've lived in SLC for more than 30 years and I've never referred to it as the "valley". I have, on occasion, referred to Provo as "happy valley" though.

I have to say that it would be helpful if the OP's would state WHERE they are when they title the post... like "south valley PHOENIX ped rec?"but that is probably true for all of the tribal areas.

I have usually referred to the valleys as either SL or Utah Valley, "happy valley", as PP said. I agree that it does get confusing, but I would sooner list the closest city I was looking for information about rather than the whole valley.
