Hi, I'm brandy new to this site. My name is Darcy, and I am 34yrs old, I am a stay at home mom to three.

I am in the Riverside area. Born, raised, moved away twice, and am now back with my young family.

Hi! We are in Riverside too. We are OC transplants but have been here for five years now. We would love to meet other moms too. Our neighborhood doesn't really have any young families.

Wife to awesome DH, and Mama to DD (6/05), and DS (12/07)

There is a great group in the IE, APInlandEmpire. There are get togethers, informal playdates and field trips, and a park day in Riverside.

Barefoot Mamas Network is nice too. I only went to one of their meetings (they seemed geared toward families with younger children), but I know a couple of their members and they are awesome mamas!

We even have some AP homeschoolers who get together in Redlands.

Hi, I am in Rancho Cucamonga.

I would like to ask if anyone can recommend a good PED in this area? Our current family doctor, who isnt necessarily not supportive, is in the OC. About 40 miles away and I'd like to find DS one closer.

A little off-topic:

I visited this area many times as a child. My grandma lived in Calimesa, and I have aunts in Yucaipa and Highland, and an uncle in Redlands. I am just curious how much things have changed in the 20 odd years it has been since I've visited. It used to be that there was still some open country between the towns - is it developed completely now? Is Calimesa still a tiny little town? Is Dunlap school still open in Yucaipa? I went to second grade there. Is there still a Stater Brothers?

Hi Darcy!

Welcome! Hope to see you sometime on APIE! There's also a few great groups on Meetup.com- one called Cloth Diapering and Babywearing in the IE and another called Awesome AP Moms of Temecula Valley. Quite a few AP moms are members of Inland Empire Kids Outdoors, too. There's also the Temecula chapter of the Holistic Mom's Network. Lots of Riverside moms hang out with the Temecula folks.

And as for the question about a local ped. If Loma Linda isn't too far of a drive, they have a holistic pediatric practice there. We see Dr. Timothy Mackey in Riverside, with Pediatric Medical Group. He is EXTREMELY breastfeeding friendly (his practice goal is to have all moms BF until age three), very AP, and always puts parents' wishes first.

I'm in Corona/Eastvale area. We've been here about a year, We previously lived in the OC but I was "raised" in Redlands. I'm interested in meeting up with like minded mommies in the I.E. as well. I'd love to actually meet a few in person. We've lived here a year and I have yet to find any in real life friends (although i haven't looked too hard).

grisandole - I'm going to be moving to the high desert area within the next month or two. I'd posted here but got no response.
Have you run into many AP mamas/families in the high desert?

It has been quite a while for any posts here, but I want to give a shout-out anyway. Fam & I are looking to move to Redlands this summer, 2013. Would LOVE to get info on affordable secular private schools, besides Valley Prep. Thanks for your guidance!

We've lived in Redlands for a little over 10 years, and it's changed a lot since then (and not always for the better, imo!) Since the housing crash I don't think many more developments have been started-East Highland is pretty developed, with more being built out on Greenspot, etc. Calimesa hasn't changed much since we've been here. Lots of empty commercial real estate and stalled development projects abound-for example, a few years ago we heard Krikorian would renovate the train depot in Redlands-hasn't happened. Gottshalks went out of business and the Redlands Mall sits empty, except for CVS. Yucaipa is much more developed, I'm sure. Orange groves are disappearing-they've been building distribution centers that I believe are mostly empty. The downtown of Redlands tries to stay intact-a few new businesses have helped anchor State St. Still Deadlands, though. ;)

Hi, I haven't been on since I last posted due to the stressful move & subsequent bout of pneumonia. My two are 6 & 8 and we're just going to start them in public - McKinley - for the time being. I noticed your photo of tree pose & wonder if you're a yoga practitioner & teacher? I will be studying with Lynn Piper to finally become certified to teach yoga (after almost 20 yrs!) and will be looking for teaching opps in Redlands/Riverside.

Not sure if you found one yet, but Garden Pediatrics is a great practice, we go there.

Otherwise, anyone still having meet ups?  We are in Yucaipa.

It looks like we visit here about as often. ;)  I was a teacher years ago back in NYC, but don't have time any longer! There are so many studios popping up around Redlands, I'm sure you'll have a lot of opportunities. Hope school is going well. :)

McKinley in Colton?

I'm in banning and grew up in riverside. My mom teaches at McKinley in Colton is why I'm asking.

I have three kids ages 5, 2, and 9 months. I'm homeschooling.

Hi ladies! I'm in Highland in the inland empire and would love to meet other moms. Still preggo with my first little guy, but looking forward to sharing this experience and being connected to other local moms! The Inland Empire group sounds promising, thanks Kimbermama! Also, I may have come across the Barefoot mamas network, but thanks for the reminder. I'm going to check that out again!
