We're considering a relocation and I'm wondering how much there is in the way of homeschooling resources in the San Diego area... museums, co-ops, social groups, etc.

I'm not a homeschooler, so I don't know about social groups and all that, but as far as museums go, it is a wonderful city. Balboa Park, just outside of downtown, has the most museums in one area in the country from what I've heard:
I have a couple of local friends who homeschool here, and my kids' pediatrician mentioned that 1/3 of his patients are homeschooled, so I know it's not at all uncommon around here.
I am in orange county, 2 hours north of San Diego- just wanted to chime in that there are lots of resources in San Diego for homeschoolers. You have all those great museums in Balboa Park for starters! California homeschool network has a message forum and it is a good place to make contacts and find out about park days, get-togethers, field trips, classes, etc.
they have a main page, too that is helpful, just google Ca homeschool network
where is the best place to settle? we are moving from new england to san diego county and have had a hard time deciding exactly where. we love encinitas, but would love some opinions. :)
