We are moving to Travis AFB in March 2013 and I just found out we are having another baby the first of September. My last birth was a home water birth and I want to have another one. We will be living on base and I am not sure how it will work out. I also need midwife suggestions. From what I have googled I can't seem to find many CNMs which is the only type that tricare will cover, though If it means having my homebirth, we are willing to pay out of pocket.

Licensed Midwives are licensed by the state of California to attend home births.  Their fees are usually covered.  Did you ask specifically about LM's?  CPM's I imagine would not be covered.

Married to a wonderful woman since 2010. Baby boy C arrived in June 2013!
