UCSD birth center?

Coming to California to birth my 3rd. My parents have vetoed a home birth so I am looking at birth centers. Considering UCSD because I like the fact that I can stay after delivery. Just don't want to be walking that quickly. Sounds like though it means I have to give up my water birth. If someone has delivered there could you answer a few questions.

Do you get checked a lot?

Will they leave me alone and let me do my own thing?

What is the risk of it filling up and you being sent to labor and delivery?

Good luck.

Only the facility in which you are delivering knows the answers to your questions since that would be their set policy.

However why would your parents be telling you how and where to give birth? None of anyone's business, but since you mentioned they vetoed the idea, are they paying for it?

I am coming from Qatar to stay with my parents in California so that I can birth in the states. Unfortunately since the home birth would be at their house they do have a say if I can have a home birth or not.

I apologize.

Hope you get the birth you want.

The answers to your questions, however, should be from the people who set the standards at the facility at which you will be giving birth. Their turf, their policies, their rules.
