Hello!

We're heading to Maui at the end of April. I'd intended to co sleep with our newest (7 weeks at time of travel) but she's mystifying me and seems to prefer sleeping in her crib or pack and play. My husband is very reluctant to take our pack and play and the cost to rent one there seems high. So I was thinking I could buy one there and donate it to a women's shelter (or another place) after our visit. We're flying into Kahului Airport and staying in a condo in Kihei. Is there somewhere I could buy a pack and play relatively cheaply? I'm Canadian, so I only know of target in the States and found that there isn't one on maui.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Erica

There is a Walmart near the airport in Kahalui. They are probably your cheapest option and they are on the way.

Maybe you look at craiglist too?

Thanks - for some reason it didn't occur to me to check for a walmart!

Now for the 2nd part - if we go with this plan, where should I donate it to after our visit?

As for donations, I'm not sure, maybe a Maui mama could answer. (I'm on O'ahu) Maybe on the last day put it on Craigslist as a freebie if you have internet access, or maybe the front desk folks might know someone. It's a very nice gesture!

There is also a Costco right by the airport, if you are looking to buy snacks/food/water. There might be some grocery stores in Kihei but I can promise they are $$, LOL. I found Maui to be more expensive than O'ahu, is it bad when someone from O'ahu has sticker shock? (LOL)

I would donate it to Women Helping Women - a domestic violence shelter.
