Hey, anyone been to Off the Chain in Anchorage? We just discovered it today. It is a bike cooperative. They can help you fix your bikes up! They have parts and tools and people that instruct. It saved us a bunch of money today to fix up my boys' bikes for the summer! (it is hidden behind the old Mat Maid building between Northern Lights and Benson if anyone needs the info!)

One of our bikes was stolen before, but mainly we have had things stolen like pedals, chains, brake system parts.. so we needed to replace parts and get things working again on our hodgepodge of bikes. They take donations, and we got a fuschia brake part off an old bike that looks great on my son's Darth Maul Star Wars bike. For a $10 donation, it was worth it! If I upgrade my bike, I am going to donate them my old one for parts.

I wanted to share this with y'all, a girlfriend of mine is teaching a hula hooping class in a few weeks in Anchorage. This is a blast, I just wanted to spread the word. Here's a blurb and info below:

"Think hula hooping is just for kids? Well, think again! Hoop Dancing is sweeping the nation as a great new exercise for adults and kids alike. Come and learn from Hoop Dancer, Kammi Matson of Cosmic Hoops, what all the hoopla is about!"

Start Time:

Location:

Thanks for sharing, that is a good one, they had a great director for that one! I'll keep ya in mind if my friend heads up your way, she is trying a new thing, going to festivals & major town events, and such. Here's her schedule: http://www.cosmichoops.net/kammishoopschedule.html
She just wants to spread the hola fever, he, he.
